A Rhea Of Hope Sponsorship Opportunities

Our Oktoberfest events have seen significant growth over the years, starting with 1,200 attendees in 2019 at Covington Trailhead, and escalating to around 2,000 participants in 2022 at the Mandeville Trailhead. Each of these successful gatherings raised $10,000 for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and an additional $1,000 to support Louisiana Bile Duct Cancer patients. Although last year’s event at Fontainebleau State Park was beautiful and spacious, it only attracted about 300 attendees, resulting in just $1,300 raised after expenses. Moving forward, we have decided to host our Oktoberfest at Covington Trailhead and our Halfway to Oktoberfest Pub Party at Covington Beer Garden, where we anticipate a larger turnout and greater exposure for local businesses.

​The urgency of our mission is underscored by a study projecting that by 2040, Intrahepatic Bile Duct Cancer will become the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., a disease that many are unaware of. Texas and Louisiana rank first and second in the nation for this cancer, affecting numerous individuals in our community. The founder of A Rhea of Hope LA, Heidi Rhea, who was diagnosed with Intrahepatic Bile Duct Cancer in 2011, found her purpose after connecting with others at the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation Conference in 2018. Since launching her nonprofit, she receives numerous requests each month for support from those affected by this devastating illness. With your generous donations, we can continue to raise vital funds for research and ensure that no one has to wait years to find the support and resources they need.
